The number one item I get asked the most questions about would be my Hermes Oran Sandals. This applies to both in-person and online questions and it wins by a long shot! While these sandals are incredibly popular and all over social media year after year, many people are still on the fence about purchasing them. When it comes to sandals, they are quite expensive and we always want to make sure it’s a good investment. Not only that, but Herm\u00e8s isn’t exactly known for sales, either… So, here is my honest opinion of the Hermes Oran Sandals after being an owner of them for a year and a half!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initial Thoughts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Hermes Oran Sandals were purchased towards the start of 2020 via the Herm\u00e8s website. Much like Chanel, you have to go directly through them if you want to purchase any of their items unless you go through the resale market. I did order a 38 and while they fit, I think a 38.5 would’ve been a little more comfortable as my heel is right on the edge of the sandal. These also come with an individual dust bag for each shoe, which is pretty neat. It’s very thick material and feels nicer than most of my other dustbags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sandals themselves are gorgeous. I ordered them in white as I didn’t own any white shoes at the time. I thought they’d go really well with a summer tan and boy oh boy, was I right! While I LOVED how they looked, I couldn’t really wear them at first. They were quite uncomfortable and I was unable to spend more than an hour or two in them without being in pain. One day, I got tired of just looking at them in my closet and I suffered through the pain for an afternoon in Marseille. After breaking them in, they’ve been phenomenal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, I’m able to wear these all day and have very little pain. If I feel a bit of discomfort, it’s on my pinky toe just because of where the Herm\u00e8s H falls on my foot. Because they’re white, I tend to reach for them quite often. I’ve recently switched up the colors in my wardrobe to more white, beige, and blue tones and a white sandal is perfect for those shades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wear and Tear<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These bad boys have been used and abused. I wore them for half of summer last year and for this year, I whipped them out as soon as it started warming up. I soled these myself with a clear sole that I purchased off of Etsy. If I were to do it again, I’d get them professionally soled, but honestly the clear sole has done a remarkable job. I also make sure to keep them clean as they’re white and therefore, get dirty easier. I try to take care of them within the same day or two of wearing them out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve worn them out exploring villages, all day with clients, all evening at a restaurant… You name it, they’ve probably been! With that being said, they’ve held up beautifully. I’m very impressed. When on, they don’t show any signs of wear and tear other than slight creasing. However, some of the white leather is starting to rub off on the edges and on the toe box. I also have slight scratching on the H and asmall scuff on the front of the shoe. The leather on the H is still perfectly white with some slight creasing as mentioned above. It is a leather shoe and creasing will happen, so it doesn’t bug me in the slightest. The H does get a bit larger with time as well. Again, this doesn’t bother me as it fits perfectly while on the foot which is what matters to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, for the amount of times and situations I have worn these, they still look gorgeous. I am insanely impressed by these sandals! Follow me on my Instagram <\/a>to see these babies in action; they’re featured quite often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’re somebody who doesn’t like ‘basic’ items and wants to stand out from the crowd, these sandals are not it. In St. Tropez, I am not kidding you when I say that every other woman I saw was wearing them. Cannes isn’t much better, either. Not only that, but I’m sure you’ve seen them everywhere on social media. However, I’d say this is subject to where you live. Back in the Midwest, I don’t think I ever saw a pair of them in person that I remember.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t mind having a twinning moment with other ladies, especially as you travel to touristic destinations, then YES! I 100% recommend these. They are my most worn summer sandal by far. The day they give out, I will be running to Herm\u00e8s and repurchasing them in white. To be honest, I almost bought these in the blue suede and I’ve been eyeing the brown ones as well. They do make the Oasis version which is a mule with a smaller block heel if that’s more your vibe, too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once they’re broken in, they’re quite comfortable and a very classy, elegant sandal. They elevate any look and will become one of your closet favorites. They’re constantly dropping new colors for them and even different fabrics and fun prints. There truly is something for everyone if you like the style. It’s a timeless design and a classic which will never go out of style. If you love them but not the price, there are lots of good dupes out there, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m not a big fan of Herm\u00e8s in general, but these sandals I stand behind without a doubt. In the grand scheme of luxury leather sandals, the price is right in the ballpark of other luxury brands. That in itself is quite shocking as the brand tends to overprice every item because of their name and prestige! It’s stood up against the test of time, has options for everyone, is very comfortable, and super chic. I. Am. Sold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
