Firstly, I don’t consider myself a romantic type of gal. It’s just never been my cup of tea. To be honest with you, I’ve never had a good Valentine’s Day with a significant other and truth be told, I find the holiday a bit tacky. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll change my mind! However, with that being said, we ALL know my passion for fashion (it rhymed!) and I truly enjoyed putting these looks together for you all. I hope that you can find some inspiration for your Valentine’s Day, whether you are single, taken, in lockdown, under curfew, etc! We should all be able to get dressed up (or wear our best robe!) and just feel good. 🙂 Plus, I personally love me a good styling theme.
Classic Valentine’s Day Look
When I think of a Valentine’s Day outfit, I always think of a dress! Am I alone in this?! Either way, here is my little interpretation of a typical V-Day look. I wanted to stay away from the typical colors (red, pink, and black) which is why I went for this champagne colored slip dress. It’s just the right amount of sexy and it is effortlessly chic! I kept the accessories to a minimum in order to let the dress speak for itself and paired it with a leather rockstud bracelet and fierce pair of plexi pumps. These types of heels are magical because the plexi gives the illusion of legs that go on for miles. Move over, Naomi Campbell!
Cute & Casual
I love heels, but I’m not always in the mood to walk on the balls of my feet, you know? Sometimes, a good pair of sandals are in order. For this Valentine’s Day look, I wanted to keep things casual, but still have that festive little flair with the colors. I loooove this sweater from Mango. Red is a color that is flattering on every skin tone once you find the right cool/warm shade for you. It’s a bit on the cropped side, so I paired it with a pair of satin-like shorts from Zara. I added a pair of lightweight statement earrings and called it a day! Isn’t this look adorable?! Personally, this is something that I’ll wear in general and not just on V-Day!
Insert Fire Emoji
I mean… Would it really be a Valentine’s Day inspiration post if I didn’t include something on the sexier side? While this isn’t my typical style, I have to admit, I felt like a fierce B. You know, the type of woman who would crush her man if he didn’t order her some fancy Dom Perignon champagne for the occasion. The star of the show is a sleek bodysuit from Mango I recently purchased. I paired it with a red blazer to be more festive, and honestly, for more coverage because that bodysuit is REVEALING… You can button the blazer and show a smaller plunging neckline, or you can open her up and truly set the building on fire. Figuratively, of course. The jeans are coated denim and they’ve been my favorite for a couple of months now. I kept it cool with the accessories since it’s already a bold look. For the shoes, I added a simple pair of strappy sandals for the finishing touch!
Feminine & Flirty
Okay, I LOVE this skirt! It is a little big on me, but I was lazy and didn’t want to go through the exchange process, so here we are! It’s a pretty heavy material and the shine on it is everything. This skirt is PERFECT for Valentine’s Day, wouldn’t you agree? I paired it with some pale pink suede pumps and one of my all time favorite tops from Zara. I raved about these in my Best and Worst Purchases of 2020 post. For accessories, I went in with a simple gold chain, a watch, and some gold and pearl earrings that you can’t even see on the pictures…. 🙂 I adore this one!
Valentine’s Day… Lockdown Style
Finally… The more realistic look for the time that we live in! Most of us aren’t able to go out to a restaurant or an event, so we spend lots of time at home. This means that we typically want to be comfortable and perhaps we aren’t feeling the heels, the dress, and the plunging necklines. If this sounds like you, I recommend a nice, fluffy bathrobe. Yup, you heard me. A bathrobe. If you’re feeling extra boujee, get yourself a luxury one. I just bought this amazing bathrobe from the Versace boutique in Cannes and even though the year is still very young, I’m predicting this will be one my best purchases of 2021 list. It makes you feel like a Queen and is super comfortable to boot AND it even has pockets.
If you’re looking to ‘spice it up’ a little, wear some sexy lingerie under it! This gives a little something extra and makes the evening more fun without feeling the need to dress up to the high heavens.
Final Thoughts
I hope that you’re feeling a bit inspired for Valentine’s Day! Just because we are in a global pandemic doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate safely with our loved ones. 🙂 Order in, try cooking something new, or, if you’re able to go out to eat, do that while following safety precautions. This is our new normal for a bit, so we might as well adapt to it and still have fun!
Personally, Cas (my cat!) and I will be having a movie night, I’ll more than likely cook, and I’ll be rocking my Versace bathrobe… With leggings and a t-shirt underneath. 😉
