Well, here we are, 2021, and lots of us are either in lockdown or under curfew. In Cannes, we just got put into a month-long lockdown. So, I guess all of my loungewear isn’t getting a break anytime soon! I do try to make an effort on most days to get dressed, but let’s be honest, sometimes comfortable clothes are a MUCH better idea! Over the last year or two, I’ve accumulated quite the collection of loungewear and I’ll be sharing a few of my favorites with you all. Hopefully, you will find something you like in my list so that you can further expand your comfy closet. 🙂
Loungewear ESSENTIAL: Leggings
I adore leggings. When I was a freshmen in highschool, I remember judging other girls for wearing leggings as pants. Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl reference) would’ve been so proud! Well, now she’d be disappointed and I’m a hypocrite because leggings are the best thing to happen since sliced bread. Period. As a woman who used to work out five times a week, it is my personal belief that leggings are better loungewear than workout gear. I’m more of a shorts kind of gal and I’m not fond of sweat sticking to my leggings and therefore, my skin. That’s a big NOPE from me!
My favorite pair is from Lululemon, as pictured in the first photo. Actually, quite a few items on this list are from there! They are pricey, but honestly they’re worth the investment. I cracked because I wanted pockets for my phone and I didn’t want it weighing my leggings down. Well, these fit the bill! I have them in different sizes, colors, and now my mom and best friend have bought pairs, too.
An honorable mention is my pink pair from Nike. They’re just so different and cute! I love the pop of color. However if you plan to work out in them in public, these give you sweat stains like no other, so be careful!
Sweatpants
Honestly, if I wrote this blog post back when I was in the States, an Amazon pair of sweats would be here. Regretfully, I gave them to a friend before I left… RIP. On the bright side, I do love these LuluLemon sweats. They sinch at the ankle which I surprisingly love! They’re soft, comfy, and cute. What more could a girl want?!
I recently bought a pair from Mango that I’ve been wearing quite a bit. They’re cute, comfy, and perfect for lounging! I would size up in them because the waistband is TIGHT. Honestly, I wish I would have bought a large instead of a medium… My sweats don’t see the light of day, unless it’s my balcony. This is mainly due to the fact that in France, sweats in public is basically a sin. However, at home they’re more than accepted. 😉
An honorable mention would be an OLD pair I have from Victoria’s Secret Pink. They’re massive, a bright teal color, have a bit of a flare leg, and are WAY too rough looking to post here. However, they had to be mentioned. I’ve had them since I was in high school and they’re still just as comfy.
Hoodies and Crewnecks
Hoodies, crewnecks, I love you. With these, I’m not one of those boujee girls who gets an adorable little cropped hoodie in a neutral color and a pair of sweats to match. At least not right now! I’m pretty edgy and I tend go for band hoodies. Back when attending concerts was a thing, I’d always end up at the merch booth, looking for that perfect band hoodie.
As for crewnecks, I used to own a killer Guns N’ Roses one from Hot Topic that I wore ALL the time at home, but I had to toss it because it looked like a mouse had gotten to it… I basically wore it to death. Now, I opt for a cute little fox crewneck from a shop in New Orleans I discovered a couple years ago or my Nike crewneck as pictured above. Foxes are my favorite animals, so naturally, I had to get a few of these. I always love supporting local businesses, but it certainly helps when the products are THIS cute! They do a ton of other cute little animals so do check them out. 🙂
Shorts
Alllll of these guys are from Lululemon. I’m basic, I know, I apologize. The biker shorts are the bomb though. They stay up AND have a phone pocket just like the leggings! The other shorts are your normal, run of the mill, workout shorts. If you’re a runner, I highly recommend them. I used to loath running in shorts because they always rode up on me and then I discovered these. I don’t know what kind of magic they’re using, but these STAY DOWN. It’s a miracle.
Tanks
I never wore tank tops in the house until I had to spend a summer in the French Riviera with no A/C. Sadly, it’s not that common of a thing here. Thankfully, my current apartment has it, so I can spend this upcoming summer not melting… But I digress. I tend to buy my tanks everywhere. Amazon has some greats ones, as does Target. If you’re more of a brand kind of gal, Nike often has good sales on two or three packs.
My Favorite Loungewear: Bathrobe & Fuzzy Socks
Fuzzy socks. You either love them or hate them. I love them. Adore them, really. Especially since carpet (thankfully) isn’t really a thing here, your feet get cold on the floor! Not only that, but they add that perfect level of cozy that I need to get me through this pandemic. Don’t sleep on fuzzy socks, guys. Most of mine are from Wal-Mart or Target. Some were gifted. A couple were gifted with a purchase from Victoria’s Secret Pink. You can get a nice pair of fuzzy socks just about anywhere. As I type this blog post, you better darn well believe I have a pair on. 😉 Funny enough, it’s the fox pair above that I’m rocking today.
Then, there’s my bathrobe. I went fancy and bought a Versace one and I don’t regret it one bit. It’s heavy. Large. Warm. Comfy. And oh so fancy. I feel like an absolute QUEEN when I throw this on! My cat is a huge fan of it, too. Everytime I leave it laying around, he runs on over and takes a nap on it. I guess it’s cat approved! 1000% would recommend. I’ll be writing a review on the bathrobe soon, so stay tuned.
What are some of your favorite loungewear pieces? Let me know!
Also, if you’re in the self-care mood, I urge you to check out my Morning Skincare Routine! Throw on that nice bathrobe and those comfy fuzzy socks and get that glowing skin you deserve! 🙂
