In the past, I have posted about my worst luxury purchases and I thought it was only fair to post about my best designer purchases, too! You know, add a bit of positivity here. If you read that post (here), you should already know that I pride myself on (usually) doing lots of research before investing in a high end piece. This strategy has saved me from regretting lots of purchases and resulted in me loving my current designer collection! Therefore, I give you my top three best designer purchases.

Criteria For Best Designer Purchases:
The title of best designer purchases is a hefty title indeed. Just like with the worst luxury purchases I’ve made, here is a list of the criteria I’ve considered to make this list.
- Cost per wear! Honestly, are we surprised? I purchase with the intent of building the perfect capsule wardrobe, so cost per wear is second nature to me. The more I wear an item, the cheaper it costs, and the more I get my money’s worth. Girl math.
- Versatility: I love when an item can go from day to night, do business meeting and 17h00 drinks, both vacation vibes and everyday style.
- How much do I love it? Does it make my heart flutter when I look at it? Do I feel like a boss when wearing it? These are very important questions!
These following items are in no particular order.
Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis:
The Pochette Metis may actually be the best purse that I’ve purchased so far. I’m a huge fan of crossbody purses as they’re by far the most convenient. They’re a stylish hands-free options and you can find one for just about every occasion. The Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis is quite roomy and fits everything that I could possibly need on a day-to-day basis.

Personally, I prefer my designer items to be on the understated side. The black leather empreinte is perfect for me as the logos aren’t very obvious, unlike the more popular monogrammed options you’ve probably seen all over social media. This also means it goes with a lot more outfits as it’s not a bold print and it’s black. Honestly, it’s always my go-to, fool-proof purse option. I do like to add a twilly to the top handle now to add a little bit of spice. I go back and forth between Gucci and Versace ones.
In terms of wear and tear, I have worn this guy to absolute death and it’s still in stellar condition. It gets a 10/10 on quality. The only downside is I tend to skip it for evenings; for me, it’s more of a casual bag. I’ve been playing with the idea of investing in a chain strap to see if that would dress it up more for low-key dinners and such. However, this type of purse just doesn’t work for proper evening events. It’s too big and slightly too casual in my opinion. Regardless, I absolutely love it and don’t regret it one bit. It was SUCH a good purchase!

Burberry Scarf:
I know that the Burberry scarf has been seen time and time again, but it truly deserves it’s place on this list. I bought mine in 2020 and it still looks brand new even though I wear it religiously every fall and winter season. It is also by far the warmest and softest scarf that I own. And I own a few!

Every year when the temperatures start to drop, I gravitate towards this beauty. My other scarves, mostly Gucci and McQueen, never quite compare to the classic Burberry scarf. It is such a gorgeous neutral that goes with everything and truly keeps my neck warm. It always travel with me when going to colder destinations and I will often bring it on the actual plane as I tend to get quite chilly. Let’s just say she has racked up the sky miles.
This scarf has seen snow, rain, extreme wind, and countless countries. She has also been mistreated quite a few times… The quality is truly unlike anything I have seen in other scarves and honestly, I am a bit ruined now. Nothing else compares. I ended up purchasing the same scarf for my mother because of how great it is and she agrees – this scarf is exceptional.

If you want to invest in a designer scarf, certainly look into the Burberry collection. They have a wide range of color options if the classic print is a bit too seen for you. Sadly, the classic Burberry Check is one of the most replicated prints out there. Personally, I have my eye on the black and grey color scheme which I believe is technically the men’s collection. But let’s be honest, it is very much a unisex item and print.
Valentino Rockstuds:
Of course, I had to finish on a pair of heels! If you know me, you know I absolutely love shoes, especially the tall heeled kind. These babies were one of the first pairs of luxury shoes I ever purchased back in 2017. They were also the first Valentino item I ever purchased. I do consider the Rockstuds to be the best designer heels I have purchased so far. Sorry Jimmy Choo, despite this heartbreaking truth, you are still my favorite overall shoe brand! I did a ridiculous amout of research before investing in these as they’re quite expensive, especially in the United States. After watching and reading countless reviews of people singing their praises, I went for it and I haven’t looked back since.

These are actually fairly comfortable for high heels. I tend to go for them when I have a long evening ahead of me and want to limit the damage to my feet. Quality wise, they barely have any signs of wear and tear; just some fading on the beige part of the heel which is not noticable unless up close. I had the heel caps replaced about a year ago, too. All of the rockstuds are accounted for and the leather doesn’t really have any scuffs. That’s impressive in itself as they’ve been worn to dinners, clubs, and everything in between. To put that in perspective, I have a pair of Louboutin heels that I have worn all of three times and the leather is already peeling off of the heel…

Some may consider the Valentino Rockstuds to be out of style, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I argue that they are a classic as they’ve been around for a long time and will always be a great choice for a gorgeous, reliable heel with a bit of a twist. They have a ridiculous amount of colors and you just can’t beat the comfort. I consider these to be the best shoes Valentino has made by far.
In the future, I plan to invest in a couple different pairs of these because I love them so much. When you find a pair of heels as tall as these that don’t make you want to chop your feet off after a couple hours (hi Louboutin), the only natural thing to do is to purchase them in other colors. Obviously.
