Review: Versace Fashion Sneakers

Versace luxury designer fashion sneakers for casual vibes

My Initial Thoughts On Fashion Sneakers

When I first heard of fashion sneakers, I didn’t really understand the obsession. Why would I want to spend a few hundred Euros on a pair of trainers when I already own so many Nike’s and Converse? I respected the beauty of fashion trainers because they are beautiful, fashionable, every single celebrity and influencer owns a pair (which doesn’t help), and they often tend to be an obvious logo flex. However, I was pretty satisfied with my current sneaker collection on days where I wanted a similar vibe without all of the “hype”. Or so I thought.

One day, I was browsing FarFetch looking for a new pair of trainers (I was considering the Nike Air Force 1’s at the time, but I was open to other options) and there they were. Beautiful. Stylish. Underrated. Versace Ilus. They were from my favorite luxury brand and they were perfect. That subtle pop of Baroque on the heel was just *chef’s kiss. After about a month of hanging out in my wishlist and many designer sneaker reviews later, I bit the bullet and bought them! I just HAD to try them for myself. Were they truly as comfortable as I had heard? How durable were they? Would I look as cool as Alessandria Ambrosio does when she wears her Gucci Ace’s?

The pop of Baroque on the heel with the subtle ‘Versace’ print is everything.

First Impressions

The answer? Yes, yes, and YES. Sizing wise, I took my usual 38. While they were a nightmare to put on the first time due to how tight the laces were and how impossible it was to loosen them, when my foot finally slid right in, they felt right at home. I do have a bit of extra wiggle room, which is great. Living on the French Riviera, it gets hot and feet tend to swell! Not cute, I know, but I’m an honest gal! They came with an extra pair of plain white laces, but I love the logo ones! As for comfort, I’ve worn them quite a bit now and I make it a point to wear them when I know I’ll be walking a ways, like when I go grocery shopping or when site seeing. I am impressed, even though they are not as comfortable as my Nike’s, they are a lot better than my Converse which was surprising.

As for the price… These shoes are a piece of art. The craftmenship alone is outstanding. The leather is soft, durable, and it’s quality. It does eventually crease around the toe box from use, but that doesn’t bother me because that’s leather for you! I don’t find it to be a bother. When I buy luxury, it’s with the intent to wear them. While I am careful and do take some precautions, I understand that wear and tear is inevitable. Shoes typically don’t have a good resell value and to be honest, I rarely sell my shoes. Plus, it’s Versace and for the brand and all of the above, I feel that they are worth the money. Not only that, but I’ve seen different variations of this sneaker go on sale, sometimes 40-50%!

My Verdict

My final thoughts? I am sold! I get so much wear out of these babies and they go with EVERYTHING. They’re beautiful, subtle with the Versace branding, comfortable, and a true work of art. With any white sneaker, lots of upkeep is required to keep them shiny, white, and new! Do keep that in mind if you decide to invest in a pair of fashion sneakers. I recommend using Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or Jason Markk. Plus, these babies keep getting compliments on them whether in person or on Instagram, so that’s always a plus. 😉 Make sure to check out my How I Style Monochrome Outfits post to see a beautiful all white look featuring these sneakers!
